Ramponio Verna is a locality located at an altitude of 667 meters above sea level. It covers an area of 492 hectares and was born from the union of the municipalities of Ramponio And Verna, which occurred in 1928.
It is difficult to establish the etymology of the name of this town, since in some medieval documents it is attested with the name of “Repugnance”.
Traces of human settlements date back to pre-Roman times and the town, like many others in the area, was assigned as a fiefdom to various families of the time, among which the names of the Rusca, the Marliani and the Riva Andreotti appear.
Since January 2017 the largest municipality of has been created Upper Intelvi Valley of which it is part together with Lanzo And Pellio Intelvi.
