Monte Crocione (1,641 m)

Monte Crocione

This walk, given the possibility of reaching 1,576 meters above sea level by car, is also ideal for families.

HOW TO REACH THE STARTING POINT:

by car: from Centro Valle Intelvi, loc. San Fedele take the road to Pigra (behind the church of Sant'Antonio Abate).

Once you arrive in Pigra, after passing the “Welcome to Pigra” sign, take the first road on the left for “Alpe di Colonno – Boffalora”:

Continue on via Militare until you reach the “Rifugio Venini” (warning: it is a mountain road with some narrow points – be careful! Do not set the satellite navigation because it indicates the wrong route);

along the road (drive time approx. 40 minutes) you will first reach Alpe di Colonno, then the “Rifugio Boffalora” (1,200 meters above sea level) and from there Alpe di Lenno (1,495 meters above sea level). Once here you can choose to leave the car and continue on foot or to reach the "Rifugio Venini" by car.

STARTING FROM THE VENINI REFUGE:

Monte Crocione

From the "Rifugio Venini", from which you can already admire a splendid view, continue on the flat track and when you reach a fork, take the path on the left, near the walls built during the First World War;

You then reach a second crossroads: here you turn right following the path that leads to Alpe di Mezzegra and the ruined Alpe di Tremezzo.

To reach your destination you only need a single, short but steep climb (about 10 minutes): but the view that awaits you is worth the effort!
