Blessagno it is a municipality of 272 inhabitants located between 675 and 1397 meters above sea level. Previously it belonged to the Pieve d'Intelvi and was called “Municipality of Luira”. Initially part of the Val d' fiefdomIntelvi, in 1451 it became the property of the Rusca family.

It then passed to the Marliani family in 1570 and in 1713 to the Riva Andreotti family. The only activity practiced by the inhabitants was agriculture and the municipality became part of the province of How in 1861.
