You jump, you do acrobatics, you challenge each other, but, above all, you have fun. The municipal administration of Centro Valle Intelvi has inaugurated the pump track, the new track for bicycles and skates within which you can have fun going up and down the hills that develop along the 170 meter route.
Present at the inauguration were the Mayor of Centro Valle Intelvi, Mario Pozzi, his Deputy Ettore Puricelli, the municipal councilors Erica Nicolò, Gabriele Andreoli, Claudio Prada (with responsibility for sport), the Mayor of Alta Valle Intelvi, Marcello Grandi, the Deputy Mayor of Blessagno, Maria Assunta Pinchetti and the municipal councilor Patrizia Marmori. In addition to the President of the Lake Como GAL, Daniela Gerosa and its director Patrizio Musitelli; the Parish Priest of Centro Valle Intelvi, Don Gianluigi Bollini, the designer Gianmarco Martorana of the Archicomo studio.
“A further step towards the creation of a sports citadel – explains Mayor Mario Pozzi -, a space dedicated to those who want to have fun in a healthy way by giving vent to their sporting passion. The new pump track is a dynamic track that allows young people to train in complete safety, dedicated, in particular, to young people who want to share their passion with bicycles and skates. We have collected a need expressed by them, always looking for a meeting point to practice their sporting passion. The project is part of a much broader vision that will lead the Administration to create a sports citadel with modern and cutting-edge facilities. There will be an info point and a relaxation area for a snack with mothers and friends."
The investment saw the close collaboration of the Municipal Administration with the GAL del Lago. Final cost of the intervention 275 thousand euros of which 163 thousand from the GAL and 111 thousand financed with own funds. The track consists of 170 meters of track and features a double whoops and a kick close to each other, this will allow riders to have more air-time and therefore progress in the act of jumping. All this is accompanied by a side route for the little ones, to take their first steps in the saddle. As stated in the project, the objective is to provide the Compendium of the Intelvi Valley with functions and sporting activities, stimulating its attractiveness and use of the facilities by residents and tourists, with particular reference to younger people.
“In recent years – concludes Mayor Pozzi – we have witnessed an increase in tourist presences who want to spend an immersive moment in nature, hence the need to respond to this trend and the intervention to give life to ad hoc projects, without forgetting that every work must, first of all, aim to offer a service to residents. We trust that this message will be received and that every action can be considered an enrichment for the territory".
