PNRR M1C3 INTERVENTION 2.1 – ATTRACTIVENESS OF HISTORICAL VILLAGES LOCAL CULTURAL AND SOCIAL REGENERATION PROJECT

THE CULTURE THAT WELCOMES – COMACINI VILLAGES ONLINE.

The project The culture that welcomes: Comacini villages in the network was born thanks to the synergy between three municipalities of Centro Valle Intelvi, leader, Cerano Intelvi and Schignano, in the heart of the Intelvi Valley, between Lake Como and Lake Lugano, and is was financed thanks to the Borghi Call - PNRR of the Ministry of Culture.

It is an important project which aims to transform a widespread system of cultural evidence into work and life opportunities for the resident population, businesses and new citizens, combining public financial capital with the human and social capital of volunteering and that business professional.

The institutions, aware that culture can be a powerful engine of social and economic regeneration, launch a plan for the functional recovery of cultural heritage, of rural architecture in the villages and in the hamlets, combined with an organic set of actions aimed at local coordination , to cultural growth, to the conscious and active involvement of the local community, of businesses, of new potential citizens to define a system of valorisation and promotion of the area based on the experience and competence of the associations and carried forward by new cultural/cultural management formulas tourism for young people. The project work, once defined and implemented, has a strong intrinsic capacity to generate income, as well as being a driver of local development in support of direct and indirect supply chain activities, as a capitalization of public investment towards social development and cultural, as the initial investment is the essential element to start the growth process which finds in future success the realization not only of returns in social terms, but also in economic ones. The years of the project are the time accompanying the autonomy of the project.

The aim is to demonstrate how cultural heritage can generate quality of life, relationships and work; can bring people back to live in the villages, concretizing that desire for good living that Covid has urged in many people in urban areas and thus revaluing the residents themselves, through a process of transferring the value of culture.

The project includes a complex program of activities for the valorization and cultural promotion and recovery of historical sites in the area: the Cristè former barracks of the Guardia di Finanza, Stalla La Sostra, former dairy of Veglio, the former Oratory of Occagno, Sasso Gordona Bivacco machine gun nest, Erbonne rural village, Orimento rural village, Cadorna Line historical path, Valle dei Mulini residual village.
