Chiesa di Sant'Agata - Castiglione d'Intelvi

Small oratory with a gabled façade which in 1506 replaced the ancient plebeian church, which had partially collapsed, on whose remains the parish church of Santo Stefano was built. The interior is divided into two bays and a presbytery, dedicated to the Virgin of Sorrows, which leads to the sacristy. The second bay preserves two chapels with a rectangular plan: the one on the right, from the seventeenth century, is dedicated to S. Agata while the one on the left, dating back to around 1800, is dedicated to the Crucifixion and houses a polychrome scagliola frontal. Externally, the façades feature irregular exposed stone masonry while the façade is plastered and decorated with fake stone ashlars around the central oculus and along the corners. Construction period: 1587
