The museum, inaugurated in 2003, preserves the works donated by Piero Gàuli, one of the greatest contemporary artists, to the former municipality of Ramponio Verna.
Worthy of particular attention are above all the paintings of the Hunger King cycle which are inspired by the drama by LN Andreev.
The arrangement of the works is aimed at reconstructing moments in the life of the artist who, in this way, entrusts his own biography to his creations. An example of this are the works that depict the "history and life of the Alpine artilleryman second lieutenant Piero Gàuli" which testify to his personal experience during the battle on the Don front; or the Green Drawings made with clear and decisive lines during the terrible detention in a Polish prison camp.
The museum and its portico also host splendid ceramics from the Umbrian-Roman period, frescoes and paintings by the master.
