The Showcase of the Mask and the Path of Expressions

Art and culture
La Vetrina della Maschera

With their work, the artists of the MASCHERA Association have created numerous sculptures with the most disparate aspects. Given the success achieved in 2014, the organizers decide to continue and every year they establish a new theme which the artists must take inspiration from; the path thus begins to come to life with the representation of “Expressions” (hence the name given to it) and then continues in 2015 with the theme “Expo” (in the year of the Universal Exhibition), in 2016 with the “Romantic smuggling", another very sensitive topic in these areas, in 2017 with the "Mountain myths and legends", in 2018 a new stretch was built which runs from Colma di Binate to the first trenches of Sasso Gordona on the "Footsteps of the Great War” and finally in 2019 with “The roots of the Path, art in the streets of the Borgo"forestry also comes to life in the historic center of the town.

Sentiero delle Espressioni

To reach the path from Schignano, follow the signs to the hamlet of Posa, park and then proceed on foot following the signs (“Sentiero delle Espressioni”) in the direction of Alpe Nava (15-20 minutes uphill). Here begins the real Path of Expressions with the first sculptures carved in wood (more information on: www.valleintelviturismo.it à trekking à Path of Expressions).

The Showcase of the Mask, however, contains the historical masks of the well-known Schignano Carnival and is also visible from the outside at the indicated address. For a visit inside it is necessary to contact the MASCHERA Association at the following e-mail address: info@lamascheraschignano.it
