Come back there Festival of the Mills of the Cloth, a “medieval mosaic rich in events” inserted in the Telo Park, a naturalistic corner, ideal for those seeking tranquility, peace and pleasant walks along the ancient paths traced on the “Valle Intelvi” Map. These paths connect the towns of Dizzasco, Cerano, Schignano, Centro Valle Intelvi and Argegno.
Organized by the Cultural Association Friends of Dizzasco and Muronico, the party is part of the PNRR program The culture that welcomes, Como villages online. The event aims to enhance the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient hydraulic power mills present in the park, works of peasant engineering still visible by walking along the banks of the river with a slow and eco-sustainable walk. Among these, the Traversa Mill, the Mill called “de La Romilda” and the “della Meridiana” are the three factories still intact as they were used as private homes.
During the Festival, the park comes alive with a series of unique and special events: the opportunity to visit and experience the tent and veil camp of the Order of the Knights of Legnano - Legnanum Medievalis, discovering the life of their medieval camp. Visitors will be welcomed by druids, musicians, ladies and knights who will offer various activities, games and experiences. Among the attractions: the game of chess, medieval games, the archers of the Winged Dragon with archery courses, the Sala d'Arme Stella Splendens with fencing workshops for children, and the Kalende Maya, medieval dancers who will entertain and teach dances. The Folk Group of Val Cavargna will present the ancient mountain crafts with the "cafè del pugnatìn", artisanal products, medieval crowns and local zero-mile products. Nairam's Atelier will exhibit creations in carded wool, while it will be possible to visit an exhibition of historical photos related to the park's factories and an exhibition of small-scale models of the mechanisms of the hydraulic power factories, of weaving and wood cutting, made by Antonio Molinaro. In addition, the artist Alberto Corba will present a faithful plaster reproduction of the historic Traversa Mill.
The day opens at 10:00 and continues until 16:30, to end on the banks of the Telo, with the Harp and Voice Concert by Virginia Grab of Tinere Arpa. Throughout the day, the refreshment service will be provided by volunteers of the CRI – Sezione Centro Valle Intelvi.
As part of the Festival of the Mills, a suggestive walk from Argegno to Dizzasco is planned. Departure is scheduled for 9:00 from the SS Trinità Church in Argegno, with arrival scheduled for 10:45. The route, 11 km long and with a difference in altitude of 450 metres, offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Intelvi Valley. It is recommended to wear trekking shoes and carry plenty of water in your backpack. Lunch will be packed, allowing participants to enjoy a moment of refreshment immersed in nature. The excursion will be guided by an expert who will accompany the group along the route, ensuring safety and enriching the experience with interesting information about the area. Join us to experience a day of discovery and sharing, exploring the historic paths that connect Argegno and Dizzasco.
