Intelvi Bike: the new route is ready

May 4 | 08:00 - May 25 | 17:00

In the new location of early June the anticipation for the Intelvi Bike is growing, which will be the final stage of the Coppa Lombardia Mtb. News on the route that will offer 40km and 1300m of altitude difference.

The granfondo comasca which has its starting and finishing point in Centro Valle Intelvi will also be a key event of the Coppa Lombardia mtb this year. For the “Coppa” streamlined format for this 2025 season with a poker of races. The start was at the end of March “away”, on the beautiful trails between Alassio and Laigueglia where the athletes of the Team Bike Valle Intelvi also competed in person.

In May there will be the other two purely Lombard and “lake” trials of the Lake Como Bike Marathon on May 4th and the Gran Forcora Bike on May 25th, just a week before the “grand finale” of the Intelvi Bike, which this year will be the final stage of the Coppa Lombardia MTB.

After hosting the Lombardy regional marathon championship in 2023, this year the Intelvi race, which has since been transformed into a granfondo, will still have that extra “something”, that is, it will be able to be the decisive test for the conquest of the circuit's leader's jerseys.

With just over 40 days to go until the event, which between Easter holidays and various long weekends could be a short time, the CO is ready to remove the cover on the new route designed for this season.

The new track will largely follow the layout of last year's “redesigned” edition.

In particular, the departure from the central Piazza GB Carminati is confirmed, which will finally also host the arrival of the race. This is to the full advantage of the show, guaranteeing the event the deserved and undisputed visibility, involving more spectators and enthusiasts.

The first part of the race will be unchanged compared to 2024. In fact, it will go up towards Orimento and after a short stretch on asphalt up to Pian delle Alpi, it will continue with the ascent to Pian Perla and subsequently to the Bolla locality passing through the dirt road that passes through the Ermogna and Carolza farmhouses.

Also confirmed is the tough climb to Orimento on the road that starts from the Bolla area (1.5km with an elevation of 207m). After this, there will be a refreshment point that will open the doors to the Alpe Squadrina ring, taking athletes to the GPM of the race at 1450m above sea level, right at the foot of the peak of Monte Generoso. Passing through Orimento and the refreshment point again, the race will head towards the trails that will lead to the finish line of Centro Valle Intelvi, with a new and redesigned final lap to go around a forestry construction site. The descent will offer new fun single tracks and some short but decisive climbs like the one at Alpe Nuovo and the one that will bring the race back to Alpe Grande before the very last nosedive.

It is important to underline that, as in previous years, the final part will not be practicable during the test as it passes through private estates that will allow transit only on the day of the race.

Overall, the new route described measures 40 km with 1300 m of positive difference in altitude. These are therefore numbers and characteristics in line with the other three races of the Coppa Lombardia Mtb ed. 2025.
