The Festa delle Corti di Pellio returns and does so punctually on the first Monday of August, for which Pellio Intelvi has already prepared a great event that will be staged on the 5th offering visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rural life that has characterized the Intelvi Valley. The program of the event includes moments of taste and culture with the opening of the doors of the ancient courtyards of the historic center, welcoming hundreds of tourists eager to discover and experience the history and traditions of the past.
During the festival, each courtyard hosts a refreshment point, allowing visitors to taste typical dishes of the local tradition; there will be ten delicious points, the proposals range from polenta uncia, to pizzoccheri, to tripe, gnocchi with game ragù, fugasceta and onion soup. The Festa delle Corti has become a fundamental gastronomic-cultural event of the Intelvi summer, combining the rediscovery of ancient places with that of local flavors, recalling uses and customs, traditions and images of the past.
Pellio, among the villages of the Intelvi Valley, is fortunate to have preserved intact numerous ancient courtyards, restored to shine as they once did. These courtyards were, until a few decades ago, the beating heart of life in the village, where people lived, worked and celebrated. During the Festa delle Corti, these places come to life again, offering visitors not only culinary delights, but also events and activities that bring the daily life of the past back to life. Each courtyard has its own story, often linked to the work or nickname of the family that owns it. Normally closed to the public, during the festival they open up in all their beauty, allowing visitors to discover hidden gems and appreciate their cultural value. The courtyards, illuminated by a soft light similar to that of candles of the past, offer a suggestive and fascinating atmosphere, making the event even more magical.
The appointment is starting at 7.30 pm with the opening of the Courts.
