On January 26, at 5:00 p.m., at the Oratory of Centro Valle Intelvi, in the hamlet of Castiglione d'Intelvi, there will be a presentation of the book “Scene di caccia e diletto musicale – La Camera picta di Casa Rinaldi a Castiglione Intelvi” by Simona Castelli. The book documents the frescoes of the Camera picta, a testimony of profane painting from the early 15th century discovered in 1966 and located on private property.
“Although marked by time, these paintings retain their evocative power intact. – explains Simona Castelli, President of Appacuvi – Precisely because of their fragility and uniqueness, the volume is proposed as a visual testimony of these evocative scenes, which transport us into the world of the Visconti nobility: from deer and bear hunting trips to moments of music, from the Madonna and Child on the throne to the sumptuous triumphal procession, animated by ladies, gentlemen on horseback and musicians in brightly colored clothes”.
During the event, Andrea Priori will present five video clips dedicated to the municipalities of Centro Valle Intelvi (Castiglione d'Intelvi, Casasco d'Intelvi and San Fedele Intelvi), Cerano d'Intelvi and Schignano. The presentation will end with two virtual tours of the churches of Santo Stefano in Castiglione and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Carmine in Casasco.
The event is included in the program of the PNRR project “La cultura cheaccoglienza – Borghi comacini rete”, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, which focuses on the identity of the territory, its history and its legends, enhancing the cultural heritage for those born in these places and for all those who wish to learn more about the Valley.
