THE VALLEY OF THE MILLS (DIZZASCO – CERANO)

Mulino Valle Intelvi

From the center of Dizzasco a mule track descends to the Valle dei Mulini, so called because numerous hydraulic-powered factories were once active here:
grinding mills, percussion mills and hydraulic hammers. Dating back to 1600 - 1700, they were used to grind wheat and chestnuts and to make agricultural tools. The Traversa mill was the last to stop grinding in 1975: the wheel and chimney can still be admired. Nearby, a beautiful medieval humpback bridge crosses the Telo torrent, then the mule track reaches the Storta area and the municipality of Cerano.
