Structural configuration: the complex of the church of S. Gallo is composed of the church - a single nave with a square-shaped presbytery, a semicircular apse and rectangular side chapels; the chapels of the Via Crucis - which flank the road leading to the church; and the south atrium - with a scenic trompe l'oeil backdrop which leads to the southern entrance. Curiously, the bell tower and the parish house are located in the nearby town, at the end of the avenue named Via Crucis . The buildings are made of mostly irregular stone masonry, left exposed or coarsely plastered, with the exception of the main façade of the church, plastered, painted and with rough plaster plinth. A portion of the north elevation of the church, corresponding to the area of the presbytery, consists of a wall in which various stratifications are visible, where more or less similar-sized ashlars have been left exposed. The façade and the interior of the south atrium are plastered and painted.
Construction period: 1756 - 1771
