Ramponio Verna

Ramponio Verna is a village of 461 inhabitants located at an altitude of 667 meters above sea level. It covers an area of 492 hectares and it was born from the union of the municipalities of Ramponio and Verna, in 1928. It is difficult to determine the origin of the name since in some medieval documents it is mentioned with the name of "Repugno". Traces of human settlement date back to pre-Roman times already and the town, like many others in the area, was later assigned as a fief to various families of the time, among which appear the names of Rusca, Marliani and Riva Andreotti.

Since 1° january 2017 it has become an hamlet of the municipality of Alta Valle Intelvi with Lanzo and Pellio Intelvi.
