THE LEARNER: By embroidering you learned to live<\/strong><\/h4>\n
The Ethnographic Museum of Casasco Intelvi<\/em> presents a one-of-a-kind exhibition, dedicated to the ancient artefacts recently found in Val d'Intelvi. The exhibition, organized by Friends of the Casasco Intelvi Museum<\/em>, represents a window into the past, allowing us to better understand the education and role of women in the society of the past.<\/div>\n
We read in the presentation \u2013 In an era that seems very distant today, it was essential for a girl to learn to embroider. The parapet, a simple piece of fabric, was the first approach to this art, on which the young people learned to make their first stitches and designs. Embroidery was not just a decorative practice, but an important skill passed down from generation to generation, often from mother to daughter, or taught in schools as an essential part of women's education. This knowledge was seen as preparation for the future role of women dedicated to the family.<\/div>\n
\u201cIn Lombardy \u2013 explains the President of the Association Alfredo Zecchini \u2013 this first teaching was often entrusted to the nuns of the local nursery schools, who with patience and dedication guided the girls in their first steps in the world of embroidery. This educational method not only provided the young people with precious manual skills, but also represented a moment of sharing and cultural transmission. Today it is a form of culture and tradition that still keeps us linked to the Intelvi Valley".
\nThe exhibition will be inaugurated on August 1st at 4.00 pm in the music room, in the former municipal building of Casasco, in the municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi. The event offers the opportunity to admire the learned goods up close, true witnesses of local history and the daily life of women of the past.
\nThe exhibition, curated by Prof. Rosa Maria Corti, will be inaugurated on August 1st (and will remain open for the whole month) at 4.00 pm in the music room, located in the former municipal building of Casasco, in the Municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi . This event offers the opportunity to closely admire these learned people, true witnesses of local history and the daily life of women of the past. I invite everyone to participate and immerse themselves in this fascinating journey through our history.
\nOpening hours: Saturday from 3.30pm \u2013 6.00pm; Sunday from 10.30 to 12.00. Guided tours scheduled on Saturdays at 4.30pm. Free admission.<\/div>\n
