It is a long, large building generally open on one side only (one of the two long ones), made with dry stone masonry walls with a vast roof traditionally made of stone with one or two pitches. Often isolated in the pasture, the s\u00f2stra, not very high, mainly hosts small livestock. In Valle Intelvi other examples are present at Monte Generoso, Alpe Grande and Alpe Squadrina.
